Dan Crosby,
High School Science
Dan loves when students start combining multiple skills and interests and reveal to themselves how capable they really are.  After graduating from Dartmouth with a B.A. in Physics, he worked in Boston on multiple materials engineering/physics projects involving superconductors and lasers.  The White Mountains lured him north eventually, where he taught math and science at The White Mountain School in Bethlehem for 15 years before switching over to teaching science at Profile High School in 2008.  He’s proud of designing and building his own house, and is mostly not very irritated by the mistakes he made.  He also values combining his interests in science, the environment, and thoughtful economic decision-making to help analyze and initiate energy projects (such as solar arrays) in local towns.  And it’s not unusual to find him mountain biking, nordic skiing, running, or making excuses about why he doesn’t play soccer anymore.

She thanks her mother for being the first one to introduce her to the magic of a library as she would take her to the one in her hometown almost daily as a child. Amber plays many roles at the school from literary curator to technology integrator, but she particularly loves serving as a learning support for students who are conducting research and writing. Amber thinks it is very difficult to choose just one all-time favorite book when she has so many wonderful choices at her fingertips, but she remembers Tuck Everlasting being her first favorite chapter book as a young reader. She is also a Harry Potter fan through and through (It’s Ravenclaw House, by the way!).
